And the winner is...
While each of the "Disaster Resilient" building systems above are far superior to conventional "stick and brick" construction ( -with each having their own particular selling points and advantages ), I keep coming back to SCIP Panels ( -and specifically Carmelo/ GCT's SCIP Panels ), as being the clear cut winner. When it comes to thoughtful design, disaster-survivability and cost-effectiveness they represent the "biggest bang" for your "DR" home dollar. That's why we're considering a Carmelo/ GCT SCIP Home ourselves.
( -ABOVE ): A futuristic Carmelo/ GCT SCIP Home design. GCT's SCIP panel system offers you complete architectural freedom to build nearly any shape, size, texture or "look" you can imagine ( -including curved surfaces or even round dome homes! ).
Smarter "Smart Buildings"
Apart from their affordability, Carmelo/ GCT's SCIP technology offers an impressive list of features, design options and most importantly - some serious disaster-resilience specs! For example:
"They are capable of withstanding up to 283 mph winds - roughly the equivalent of a powerful EF4-EF5 tornado or CAT 5 hurricane!"
Carmelo/ GCT SCIP Panels are comprised of an EPS core sandwiched between two layers of galvanized high-strength steel welded wire mesh. A galvanized steel connector wire is pierced through the EPS core and welded to each outer mesh layer for strength, insulative value and disaster-shock absorbing "flex". Some impressively "smart" design features!
Additionally, once shotcreted and cured, these panels can withstand ( 240-grain ) .44 magnum bullets and 2" x 4" lumber shot at high velocities without penetration or spalling occurring on the opposite side of the panel ( -Ballistic Test ANSI/ UL 752 and NIJ Level II and III certified ) assuring your family remains safe from both gunfire and the debris and projectiles that can be spun out of tornado funnel clouds. Oh, and did we mention they're also rated as "self-extinguishing" fire resistant ( -meeting ASTM C-578 standards ) as well as earthquake resilient ( -having achieved the highest "Seismic Response Modification Factor R of 5 in Lateral Load Tests - so you're prepared should the New Madrid Fault decide to let loose with a Magnitude 7 or 8 quake some time in the future! ). Something seismologists have been warning we're long overdue for here in the Midwest!
What - there's more? YES -they're energy efficient too!
If the ability to survive powerful storms, straight line winds, micro-bursts, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, fires and .44 magnum gunfire isn't enough - Carmelo/ GCT's SCIP panels also offer impressive insulative
R-Value and energy savings to boot!
If there's ever been a building system that exemplifies "smart" it's Carmelo/ GCT's SCIP panel system! Disaster resilient, affordable, energy efficient, quickly constructed and offering builders the maximum architectural freedom. CARMELO/ GCT: "JUST PLAIN SMARTER!"
A builder's opportunity:
Offering tomorrow's "disaster-resilient" homes today!
BUILDERS! WEIGH THE ADVANTAGES: Affordable "disaster-resilient" homes and commercial buildings THAT: * Require less man power to build. * Can be built FASTER. * Require less concrete and rebar. * Offer greater design flexibility. * Reduce material waste. * Reduce jobsite injuries. * Meet ( or ) exceed exhaustive building certifications & standards. GCT SCIPS: "JUST SMARTER"!
If you're a Midwestern home builder, concrete-contractor or ready-mix supplier who's beginning to see the potential of Carmelo/ GCT's SCIP's - CONGRATULATIONS! You're paying attention. You're way ahead of your "stick and brick" brethren living in the past!
"A wave is coming. Catch it and prosper!"
As mentioned previously, the "Build Smarter" movement has swept Florida and the Gulf Coast. The Coast's early adopters now have more orders than they can fill. And by the way - they think that's a pretty nice "problem" to have!
Considering the Midwest's long-standing reputation for violent storms ( i.e: tornadoes, large hail, straight line winds, micro-bursts, etc. ) and seismic activity ( i.e: the New Madrid fault ), I fully expect this wave of "disaster-resilient" construction to sweep the Midwest once home buyers and businesses learn of it.
Question is: Will you be riding the crest of this wave or be pushed aside by it once it hits the Midwest?
Contact me ( Tomm Buzzetta ), I'm located in Lebanon, Missouri at: riffjamtribe@gmail.com ( or ) at: ( 314 ) 585-4249 before 10:30 AM ( CST ) Weekdays.
If you'd like to get in on the "ground floor" of this new building revolution, I may be able to secure favorable registered pricing on your Carmelo/ GCT SCIP panel orders ( -as well as help arrange training for you and your team by a Carmelo/ GCT Tech Advisor ). No guarantees but I'll try!
Learning the SCIP construction process NOW will favorably position your company at the "leading edge" of this wave when it sweeps the Midwest. And that's a nice position to be in as the Gulf Coast's "smarter" builders can tell you!
*NOTE: The opportunity to build GCT SCIP homes is not limited to just "on-site" builders! Manufacturing plants experiencing "hard times" can re-direct unused factory space, capacity and idle labor to run GCT SCIP Prefab Home production lines ( -as a smart "hedge" against sales downturns during tough economic times ).
Does your town have abandoned ( or ) under-performing factories? Are your factory owners looking for a "recession-proof" product that keeps their people working? ADDING a SCIP Prefab Home "assembly line" or a SCIP Precast 3-D Print facility ( -that casts the component parts needed by ( -ABOVE ) SCIP PREFAB/ PRECAST builders for their precast homes ) could be a smart way to keep your factories humming and profitable. REGARDLESS of the prevailing economic conditions. Housing is a basic necessity. People need shelter regardless of the economic conditions. And affordable, disaster-resilient housing is in even higher demand than overpriced conventional "stick and brick" homes!
HOW 3-D PRECASTING WORKS: Computerized pumps supply precise flows of concrete into forms and tables. These become the home's entry ways, walls, roofs, window and door sections. ( -ABOVE ) SCIP PRECAST FACILITY.
"The on-site assembly only takes a day to complete" -saving time and labor"
Embedded in each section are SCIP panels ( -that were placed in the forms prior to pumping the concrete ). Once dried and cured these concrete sections are transported to the building site ( -where they are craned into position and joined to form complete houses on pre-poured concrete slabs ). The on-site assembly only takes a day to complete - saving time and labor. SMART!
Currently, there are very few SCIP builders in the Midwest. This "lack of competition" will put your town and it's SCIP businesses in the lead once this "smart building" wave sweeps the Midwest. Gulf Coast builders have already benefited ( -and will continue to benefit for years to come ) from their early adoption and mastery of these "disaster-resilient" building techniques. WHY? Because "Smart Building" is the future of construction.
The Midwest is "ripe" for those who seize upon tomorrow's building technology TODAY! Catch the wave and prosper!
